So, let's say you're up at 3am watching TV…it's possible that you'll see me in a two-minute infomercial I recorded for the ScanNCut! Eeeek! Brother has placed the ad in a variety of markets, on various channels, at many different times of day, but I don't know the specifics. (If you do see it, please let me know!) Hi there, it’s Terhi here to show the easiest and quickest three-step technique with Pan Pastels, stencils and baby-wipes. Thank you Julie for having me over – it’s a great pleasure!
First step:
To create a resist surface, add a thin layer of gesso or other medium to your paper. Any waterproof medium will do, I prefer clear gesso as it’s so light as makes smooth surface.
Second step:
Add PanPastels. In any color, through a stencil, or simply on their own.
Third step:
Set your stencil to its place and gently use baby-wipes to take the PanPastel color off. It creates nice negative shape.
Remember to use fixative, or hairspray like I do, to adhere PanPastels.
Easy, right? Here is how it looks on a finished art-journal spread.
