Today I'm sharing some daily pages from June and July 2014. I'll be the first to admit that it has been an insanely busy summer filled with travel and I've been terrible about actually art journaling every single day. That said, who cares?! I got into my art journal as often as I could and I love the pages that I created when I had the time to sit down and create!
This page has a lacy insert.
It was a cut that ripped when I cut it with my ScanNCut. Rather than throw it away, I decided to toss it into my art journal!
Here you can see it flipped to the other side:
One of the reasons I like to leave some room in my binding when I make a journal is because I tend to add little pages like this lacy one.
Lately I'm having a love affair with my Moonlight pens. I can't seem to do any lettering without them!
I tend to use the same handwritten font over and over, so here I was playing around with mixing up a few different ones. The white is my beloved white Sharpie.
And more Moonlight madness!
This is a Picasso painting that I had part of. Can you see the line through her forehead? The bottom half is Picasso and the top half is me finishing off the painting — trying to match color and style.
Same thing here on the left shoulder. You can see where the picture ends and my painting picks up.
Some days the truth just comes rolling out of my pen. I am full of excuses.
But at least I admitted it in pretty lettering, right? I particularly like how the triangles in "full" turned out.
The flower is made up of lots of leftover strips of Gelli Prints.
You can see that after I worked on this page some paint from another page leaked through the binding. C'est la vie. It's a working journal after all.
There's the leak up close and personal. I don't let it bother me. This is what happens when you don't prep the seam properly.
Sometimes I just like to fill space with simple doodles.
I cut a mask using my ScanNCut and then painted around it with two colors of transparent paint. I didn't want to cover up the image too much.

This happens to me all the time, and sometimes it isn’t that bad but as the journal gets older the binding seems to get looser so even if I don’t experience bleed through I’m still seeing the white of the seam I couldn’t paint when I did it because the binding wasn’t that loose.
First world journaling problems. I don’t let it bother me too much but if there is an easy solution, I’d be open too it for sure!
