I love a pop of color!  Years ago I would have told you that orange is my least favorite color in the world.  But I have since learned that since I love blue, I have to love orange.  Orange makes blue look even better.  In fact, one of the bigges things I've learned about color over the years is that there are no ugly colors.  It's all about how one color makes the other one look.  But that's a conversation for another day.  Today, I want to share five pieces of abstract art that I recently pinned that all have the color orange in them.

So, what do you think?  Besides the fact that they're abstracts and contain the color orange, do you notice any other similarities between the five paintings?

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Whoa, those are awesome abstracts, and I think that’s one of the toughest styles to do well. You can’t depend on an indentifiable image to define your piece, you are completely dependent on color and shape. Really well done! Orange and blue are really great complementary colors. My latest favorite color combo is orange/pink as the primary color palette, and yellow or blue for a bit of spice.

Hey, I got a bunch of balzer bits at the mixed media store in Exeter, NH yesterday and a little birdy told me that you are gonna be there in October. Happy dance here!
