Mix & Match Valentine’s Day Cards

BalzerCards-wm

Yesterday I was determined to whip up some quick Valentine's Day cards.  I started with two main ingredients:

Script-wm

DeliPaper-wm

White cardstock with messy painted handwriting and painted and printed deli paper.  I mixed and matched those two ingredients to create 6 cards:

I like the whole notion of mix&match — taking what you have and exploring all the different ways to combine the same ingredients.  In a formal sense, you could call this six cards "a series."  I think it's fun to challenge yourself to make things different but the same.

  • What a great collection of cards! Love the loose black lettering AND the bright gelli print off cuts. Love the flappy squares concept too! Simple yet it adds that extra depth to the cards!

  • Love your cards…fantastic use of the printed deli papers. A quick question, what size paint brush do you use for the brush script?

  • The cards are imaginative and cheery! They make me smile, and I know the recipients will smile, too.

  • Julie, I am inspired by the simplicity of your design! I get caught up in the “more-is-more” mentality which runs right alongside of the “must-use-amazing-new-technique” mentality and end up not doing anything. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your creative ideas!
