Today I've got a quick round up of things that I keep meaning to share and then don't.  So, I figured I'd collect them all into one big post.  :)

1. Top Ten Things We Learned in Julie Balzer's Workshop

Check out this awesome post from Jenny Doh about the mixed media collage class I taught at her studio.  I'm still busy editing photos, but will have a full report of my own very soon!

2. How To Make Paper Feathers for a Heart Wreath

This is a tutorial I wrote for I {Heart} Paper magazine and it's now online!  Perfect for Valentine's Day!

3. instagram love for Carve Stamp Play

CarveStampPlay

I love, love, love, love, love, LOVE seeing people actually using my book, Carve Stamp Play.

Super duper cool and makes me so very happy!  Keep posting, please!  And hashtag it with #carvestampplay and/or tag me @balzerdesigns so that I can find your post!

4. Review of Carve Stamp Play

Speaking of Carve Stamp Play, check out this great review on the AnLiNa Designs blog!  Not to mention the gorgeous stamps she carved:

5. The Mixed Media Workshop

MixedMediaWorkshop
I'm so pleased to share that I'm going to be hosting a weekly online TV show called "The Mixed Media Workshop" along with Cloth Paper Scissors magazine editor, Jenn Mason.  I can't release too many details yet, but I'm really excited for it!  We'll be filming the first episodes in April!

6. Layered Stenciling Video

Finally, click on over to Scrap Time to watch a short video I did at CHA on layering your stencils!

So, there you have it: a round up of all the news that's fit to print.  Hope you're staying warm wherever you are. I've got freezing fingers here in NYC!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • So now I’ll be singing up & down, up & down while I stamp on my stencils with my cosmetic sponge. Thanks for the wrap-up and videos.

  • Hi Julie…Hope you – or someone else – can help me. In the CHA video from Scrap Time that you linked in this post, there’s a shot of a stencil that kinda looks like rows of two back-to-back squatty bullets. On the canvas that you show, the stenciled image is in navy blue.
I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for that stencil! You call it “Pebbles” in the video, but when I Google TCW Pebbles, a different stencil comes up.
Can anyone tell me what the name of that stencil is, and who might have it for sale. Thanks!

  • I’m so excited and happy for you Julie. Most people seem to wither following divorce, but not you, my inspiration, you bloomed and flourished. Your creative endeavors have never been better and you look terrific. Kudos, my online friend. You deserve every success that comes!
