I broke out my big ol' 12×14 Gelli Plate the other night. Sometimes I make intentional prints. You know, prints that are meant to be finished art, like this one:
But, sometimes it's fun to simply make a mess with lots of layers and colors. Check out my messy unintentional prints:
For a sense of the scale of the prints, here's a picture with my hand:
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with them. Some will probably become journal pages. Some will likely become collage papers and get torn and cut up. I'll have to think about some new projects! What are you doing with your Gelli prints these days?
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Just a quick reminder that I'm teaching a two-day class at The Ink Pad here in NYC on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a ScanNCut in class for you to try out and use! Yay!
I think gelli printing must be like a good virus going around. Pulled mine out the other day and made some unintentional prints too. LOve yours. You have such a great way with colors.

Ha! It would have been fun to attend your class at The Ink Pad, but my timing is off… I’m getting more and more interested in the gelli plate and the scanNCut though! Looks like fun!

Hi Julie, I loved your unintentional prints. Once I begin I can’t stop. Well my collection under my table grew so big that I decided to cut them up and make some abstract collages… well in the meanwhile quiet busy with cutting and pasting… I still need to upload the results, but it’s coming soon…

I recently cut the most beautiful prints in one size and right now, they are waiting to be bound with lumbeck binding – I have no intention to use the book as an artjournaling, just as a coffee-table book with nice pages to look at. I will have to make a nice, representative cover for that 🙂
Last week, I put some experimental prints into a frame (I bought 4 white frames about 8×11 inch). I like using passe-partouts with the prints. Helps to find an interesting part of the print and adds value, sort of.
I thought of cutting prints apart and sewing some small parts of prints together, similar to what Mary Ann Moss demonstrated in her last class. But I didn’t start with that yet.
Actually, after a while, I throw prints away that I do not really like that much. Printing is also practising. So not all of it has to be stored, I think.
Thanks for blogging, I enjoy to participate in your creative adventures.

I don’t have any but enjoy seeing what you’ve done with yours. Love the ones towards the end with the orange-ish lady stencil on them. It would take me days to make all those prints.

Your prints are so colorful and fun! I’ve started to print on canvas or studio cloth and have made placemats, mug rugs and even brush rolls, which require only simple sewiing (I’m not really a sew-er).

The Gelli plate is really lots of fun. I do backgrounds only for the sake of playing, I stack them and use them for loads of different things. I like to wrap presents into the papers I ‘ve created.

Wow! That is a lot of gelli prints. How long did it take to make that many? I have yet to break out my gelli plate and try it out.
Aloha, Kate
