It has been a while since I've shared my daily art journal pages with you. You'll see that I skipped some days here and there and that's okay. Life gets busy. The important thing is to dive back into the journal as soon as you can!
This is the opening page of my journal, which I believe I may have shared several months ago.
The face was done with Neocolor II (watersoluble crayons).
I added this hand cut piece of paper. It was an art fail from my first attempt at making pop-up cards. But nothing pretty should go to waste, right? So it found a home in my art journal.
I love painting patterns. It's part of what I'll be teaching at the Art Journaling Live event in Charlotte, North Carolina in October.
Some days my art journal is a useful place. I like including packing lists and to do lists because seeing them reminds me exactly what I was in the middle of.
Doodling with markers and the stamped pattern was made with a small hand carved stamp that I printed many times.
There's lots of stamping on this page. My "Year of Yes" hand carved stamp made an appearance on this page.
This is my sweet friend Nathalie's typewriter stencil. The red design is a foam stamp I made.
I've got lots to say these days. Most of my pages are filled with writing these days.
I cut the little skyline with the Brother ScanNCut!
A miscellaneous tag that was sitting on my desk found its way onto this journal page. The feathers are from my new feather stencil.
I'm in a face phase, even more than usual. I'm trying to push myself to get better and do more challenging poses and kinds of faces.
I really like the kind and warm expression on this face. It's very welcoming.

That face could be a man or woman. I see it as a good looking guy’s face. Isn’t it funny how people see the same thing differently? I’m still trying to figure out a way to shade faces, but I want my own style and not a copy of yours. I wish I could get your advice on that, Julie!
