ArtJournalEveryDayLogo-150If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  There is a flickr group for sharing right here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it.  If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post.  Thanks!

I wanted to share some more daily pages from my art journal.  I love working in my art journal every day.  I love just getting my feelings out with a bit of daily writing.  I love taking a few moments to draw or paint or glue.  I'm pretty sure that my art journal keeps me (mostly) sane.

1-RedFace-wm
I glue a lot of decorated tags into my journal.  That way they live on as little works of art instead of gathering dust in my studio drawers.

1-Detail1-wm
And I just can't stay away from faces!

1-Detail2-wm
They're everywhere in my journal and come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and styles!

2-AnythingEverything-wm
This is one of my favorite quotes.  It's so true.

2-detail-wm
I cut it out and then used washi tape to put it in my journal as a peek-a-boo window.

3-Black-wm
Every now and then I like to include a black page in my journal.  Black pages are always fun to play with.

3-Detail-wm
And nothing goes to waste!  The pink and yellow pieces were masks I used for Gelli Printing.  When they dried, I stuck them in my journal!

4-BlueMan-wm
I love the way a face looks in the crack of the journal.  It so easily unites the two halves of the spread.

4-detail-wm
My Mom thinks this looks a bit like my brother…I'm not so convinced.

The final spread in my journal is simply a bit of collage.

5-Pattern-wm
When I got to this page I simply couldn't bear to cover up all the pretty patterned paper and paint.  So, I decided to leave it!  Sometimes (not often) less is more.

Here is this week's linky list:

  • When I saw the man’s face, I said that looks like Julie’s brother! Since I don’t even remember seeing him except maybe once in your blog, I quickly dismissed that and read further to see who it was – then saw what you wrote about what your Mom thought. WOW, don’t you know Moms are always right!HA

  • Funny, I’ve never met your brother but thought it might be him based on pics that you’ve posted here. So I’m gonna have to agree with your Mom. 🙂

  • Just want to tell you how much I appreciate your blog. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. And for sharing your journal. Your journaling style has to be my all time favorite, as I keep coming back to your 30 Days of Journaling class.
