This is my sketch kit:
Here's how it breaks down:
- Pencil Sharpener
- White Eraser
- Stabilo Water Soluble Pencil
- Mechanical Pencil
- Watercolor Moleskine
- Sakura Koi Watercolor Set
- set of 4 Pitt Pens
- Handmade Pouch (I show you how to make this art pouch in my online class "It's Sew Easy.") to hold everything.

- Set of 12 pan watercolors
- Sponge
- the very best waterbrush (comes with the set)
There are two sizes of the Sakura Koi watercolor sets.
This past weekend I used the larger set.
You can see that it has a larger mixing area, two sponges, and twice the number of colors. When I'm not going far, I will take the larger set with me. When I'm schlepping, I take the smaller set. You can always mix up the colors you want!

I have yet to find the Koi sets locally but, am still looking. I have found that an enclosed (the shavings are contained) pencil sharpener is better for me while traveling. It’s less messy for me. BTW….you look like you’ve lost weight!

I love my pouch I made in that class – use it a lot! Best class ever in my opinion! I need to get one of the small koi sets. looks less daunting. Loved the watercolor class by the way – been experimenting-:)

It still freaks me out a bit that you can do water colors on the run. Not sure why (maybe I just think of them as too messy to travel with). It seems like you excel at any of the art avenues that you pursue. I guess that practice mantra of yours pays off.
