Last week I was in Cleveland taping the new season of Scrapbook Soup TV. Yay! The show is being taped in a brand new studio. Yay again! Over the next few days I thought I'd take you behind the scenes and share a bit about what goes into putting the TV show together.
For months before the show, we're busy organizing and braninstorming and working out all of the logistics. Then about a month or so before the taping there's a crazy push to get all of the artwork done for the show. Due to the nature of crafty TV, not only do you have to create the finished product, but you have to create all of the individual steps that lead up to the finished product. It's a lot of work.
This time around I had more than 25 segments to prep — it was crazy!
The day before the shoot, I got to the studio early to set up.
Each segments gets a tray. Onto the tray go all of the supplies for that segment, all the step-outs, and I like to include a set of directions too. (Just in case I lose track of what's happening!)
I managed to keep my workspace pretty clean the first day, but it was downhill after that.
Then, of course, there's all the technical stuff that needs to get dealt with. Since it was a new studio, lots of stuff needed to be tested, including the teleprompter:
I can help with that one (by reading it) but for the rest of the technicalities, I leave that to the experts. And anyway, I'll confess, there were a few projects of mine that needed a bit of last minute finishing! So I spent most of my day crafting and organizing.
And before I knew it, it was time to start filming!
But, that's a story for tomorrow!

You do look prettier and prettier each day. Don’t know what you are doing, but it is working. I know that has nothing to do with the blog, but it is what I thought the minute the page opened. As for the trays to organize for the shoot, brilliant.

Ditto about wishing we could get Scrapbook TV in CT. Taking a class with you is on my bucket list. Wish I could come to Create this year, but that week is family vacation. My gelli pad came yesterday so now I will sign up for that class!
