VIDEO #2: Out of Reach painting by mitsib — I stumbled across this one on Pinterest. (Did you know that you can pin videos?) I followed the pin to Mitsi's YouTube channel, which is full of fun videos, and then visited her blog, which is full of color.
VIDEO #3: Demonstrating 4×4 Art by Jane Davies — Jane is a super talented collage artist and I always enjoy watching her do her thing. It's quite magical, but she makes it so very approachable.

The most recent craft project I finished was a roman tunic for my daughter to wear to school on her ” dress like a Roman” day this Friday. I’ve also finished a scrapbook page this week and have nearly finished a paper mâché bird! Love the look of this book xx

Funny you should ask … the most recent project I did was a “Jane Davies” style project – creating post cards for her “Postcard Project”. Love her videos, too… never get tired of them. I’ve got some Ice Resin but not much clue what to do with it, so this book would be awesome! Thanks for the chance to win it! 🙂

There is a scrapbook boutique with a wonderful team in the city and unfortunately, they will be closing at the end of April. I did spend lots of time there for classes, crops, shop or attend the local art journal club. Their last contest is to build a craft quilt from 8×8 squares of any type of craft. I wanted to not only participate but also make something meaningful for the lovely owner. I made a mixed of art journal and collage about the boutique. When I gave it to her, she was almost crying and asked me if she could keep it after the contest as I happened to use her favorite colors in the background. I was just very happy that she liked it 🙂

My most recent ‘completed’ project was an art journal page which I did using my colored pencils the other day while waiting on my son to finish up his SAT test. I also am working on a crocheted afghan & a cowl for my daughter. PLUS a cross-stitch sampler for my college girl. 😉

Hi Julie, I watched all three videos. All of them interesting. I have been pinning videos on pinterest too and love the reference library it has created for me. I have been on a book making spree, and I just finished one that is going to my grand daughter and I made her an altered heart box as well. I just hope she likes them when she gets them. You just never know about teenagers.

I recently completed an altered book with a nature theme for another artsy friend. She loved it and has it on display. Part of the fun was using techniques and scraps from other projects…. It was great fun and very exciting when it all went together.

I just finished an art journal. What a bittersweet ending.
And this past weekend I went “thrifting” and found two new books that will be transformed into art journals so I can start anew soon! I am also just finishing up an embroidery project on a dove grey raw silk, it is stunning! I keep thinking I am almost done and then find I “need” to add a bit more here and there…..

I finished an art journal page, with a watercolor background, distress ink, stamps and stencils. I made my own stencils for it, first time I’ve done that. I’m happy with how the page came out – a lot of bold reds and purple. Thanks for the video links and for the giveaway.

The very last creative project I worked on were alcohol inked dominoes and a alcohol inked scrapbook layout, I am really enjoying painting with them:) When I received your email with the book review I instantly forwarded it to my most extraordinary art teacher, who had showed me in class what she was up to with resin. I receive a monthly mixed-media kit with random fun stuff in it (papers, stamps, sticky letters, you just never know). I made an 8X10 collage with papers, paints, inks, pens and card stock. It reads” LIFE IS BEAUTY FULL”. Lots of fun and makes me really strive to be creative. Thank you for the opportunity:)

I have such a hard time giving gifts to people – I make them and then chicken out of actually give them. For a friend I made some beautiful stationary – black and gold and some crazy bright glitz. Just what I like, but will she? Second guessing myself is a huge part of my process. The good thing is I did make some fun stationary.

My last finished project was a travel journal for my daughter who was traveling to Kenya for 2 months. It’s finished because I had a deadline – she only had 1 1/2 weeks notice before her travel date and I needed time for mailing. It’s amazing how a deadline can eliminate the normal putzing around with a project and just call it done already!

I’ve been doing lots of digital art, most of which is posted at Deviant Art where my nom is Nanner2. However, I do work with resin (usually the kind you cure in a nail curing lamp) and have done fun thinks with ring bezels. Certainly plan to do more!

Recently….lets see… I’ve been carving rubber stamps, and doing many… geli plate mono prints since I learned how from Get Started class. I’ve painted several silk scarves lately too…. in fact there is a batch in the steamer right now. I’m painting on muslin (learned from your It’s Sew Easy class)….. Basically, I’m trying to do it all ….. and loving every moment of it! Thanks for all the inspiration!

a great big birthday card for my aunt with macular degeneration. i made it large enough so she could see it and read it herself without having to put it in her magnifying machine.

Last night, I finished carving my first stamp – a smiling mouth from an eraser block. It looks really cool! This morning I made a screen from a picture frame, sheers and masking tape. I haven’t used it yet but it’s so fun (and cheap!) to know I made my own screen.

Last night, I finished carving my first stamp – a smiling mouth from an eraser block. It looks really cool! This morning I made a screen from a picture frame, sheers and masking tape. I haven’t used it yet but it’s so fun (and cheap!) to know I made my own screen.

I actually used the leftover painted masking tape from the Right at Home Scrapbooking class to cover a small cigar box. There was exactly enough left when cut and patched together — and again, separately none of the tape was my favorite, but together was amazing! Thank you for all the encouragement and techniques.

mostly i wanted to tell you: your stitching is excellent. i have stitched for over 50 years (started at 5) and you do great work. i love all stiches but satin because i never think it’s perfect enough, yours is great. i’m glad you realize you need to take your work out of the hoop between stitching. i have had permanent hoop marks because i was taught to do it but didn’t. i read your blog everyday, thanks for the inspiration. thanks for the chance to win a book.

I did my cover for my journal… Wanted a pink gesso as a base so made up one with fire engine red and white gesso got the perfect pink I wanted and then painted my base once dry I used your technique from CJS 2013 with the stencils to do the various images on the cover. Finished with a stunning Butterfly and labeled it… really happy with how it turned out..Happy with what you’ve shared with me or wouldn’t have such an amazing cover! Thanks for the video’s

I finished a postcard for an ‘create & pass to the next’ swap. I used watercolors, some acrylics (stamped with the back of plastic packaging which, when I use it, reminds me on the yummy chocolate that was inside ;)) and markers (black & white). Fun! 🙂

To make the cards easy for these ladies took a lot of preparation. They loved the slider card we all make but it took me hours to cut the strips for sliding. The ladies and I enjoyed it so much, they begged for me to come back soon and do more cards.

I’ve been working on several assignments from LifeBook 2013, adding touches to each as time permits and inspiration occurs. I’ve just finished the fifth assignment and am moving on to the next one. My favorite so far is creating a game board, cards and a game piece on a journal page that relate to my 2013 journey.

I’ve been working on several assignments from LifeBook 2013, adding touches to each as time permits and inspiration occurs. I’ve just finished the fifth assignment and am moving on to the next one. My favorite so far is creating a game board, cards and a game piece on a journal page that relate to my 2013 journey.

I was going to decoupage an r for my wall, but ended up making an ‘altered’ one digitally, and put it on the wall. You can see it here. Thanks for the video links. They look awesome. Will have to watch this weekend.

I finished 2 pieces of jewelry today to round out a portfolio for consideration at a local gallery! One was an open back bezel pendant and the other was a digital collage in one of SLK’s rectangle hobnail bezels (of course both were filled with resin!) Thanks!

I’ve actually done a few things today, I carved a stamp with my own writing on it, then used it to finish my inspirational card deck and repaired a pair of antique gold earrings.
