Hey all you New Englanders (especially you Massachusetts and Rhode Island folks), I'm going to be teaching a one-day class at Right at Home Scrapbooking in North Attleboro, MA.
In this class I will show you how to
make your own gorgeous "papers with personality" using stamps and
stencils. The emphasis is on working in layers, color mixing, exploring
mists, playing with stencils, experimenting with patterns, and creating
pleasing compositions. I will also share how to make your own totally
fabulous handmade tape. We will use that tape to bind a
hand-bound-no-sew-pocket-filled journal! That's right! You can make
this gorgeous book with absolutely no sewing! Got to love that!
There are six front facing pockets that hold long cards for journaling and one
side facing memorabilia pocket in the front cover. This book even opens
up to allow for a row of photos or memorabilia to be pasted onto the backs of
the pocket pages.
It's going to be a ton of fun! And you'll walk away with a wonderful finished book.
I hope you'll come and play with me on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 10am-5pm. You can find more class information and sign-up HERE.
Thanks for stopping by!

P.P.S. Here are just a few comments from students in my online "Getting Started with the Gelli Plate" class:
"I said a lot in a previous comment but as always, your online classes are a great value. You really teach a lot of techniques, ideas, and just stuff in all of your videos….I have had my gelli plate for nearly two years….It took you and your videos to get me to open it up. Thanks, I had an absolute blast. Can't wait to play again tomorrow." — Laurie
"I LOVED this class. I've already made about 30 gelli prints just using the first couple of videos…can't wait to wake up tomorrow (or later today I guess) and make more….So excited you did this Getting Started series Julie. I can't believe how much fun I'm having." — Kara
"Thanks for this class, Julie. As usual, your videos are entertaining and informative and to the point, which I appreciate, having seen too many in which the instructors take an hour to present 15 minutes of material!" — Sandra
"Julie, this course was so great and informative. Thanks! I've had my gelli plate for more than several months and have used it a lot. But now I know a lot more techniques, thanks to your course. I learned a lot from your teaching and demonstrations. Plus I get a huge kick out of your singing and theatrics!" — Deborah
"Wow! This getting started class for gelli plate has been awesome. Thank you so very much for doing this class. I'm ordering mine today! I love your enthusiastic teaching style. The prep you put into these classes is evident. There is no 'fluff' or 'filler' in the classes – it's all useful! I like to see how you think about the art you create. Even though my style is not the same as your's, that's ok. I learn from how you think, and how to see things differently. Also appreciate how you encourage me to try new things – reminding me that experiments and mistakes are just fine. Art is just like life, in many ways. I cannot believe this was only $15!" — Dawn

Would love to come but not a travel weekend for me so “idea” make it an online class even though we would miss out on your lovely company.

hi julie. i love the gelli plate class — i just made a triptych on little canvases, and layered with deli paper creations from my gelli plate. 2 questions:
1. i have taken a number of your classes and i think you have a section on faux washi tape. which class would that have been in, do you remember?
2. i think i tried to link once to a gallery upload on splitcoaststampers. that is where i post my creations. the link didn’t end up showing in your links section — so i assumed you have some kind of blocker in place that won’t allow a link to another social site gallery. am i correct or did i maybe just do my link wrong? if you do have a blocker it would be too bad, because i would love to share my art with you guys. i can’t do a blog right now due to so many other commitments, but i do manage to upload my photos to splitcoaststampers.
and just thought of this 3. splitcoaststampers just started a new “mixed media” challenge on fridays. that might be a way for you to get more exposure about your classes etc. you can’t promote directly on the site (without paying for advertising) but you can link to one of your blog entries in addition to uploading it on scs… and from the blog entry you can get more exposure about your business. i know at least a few of us out there love your classes 🙂
