  • I love that fourth image – the portrait of the dark haired woman, she’s just so strong and passionate looking, the red and and the warm dark colors work so well… the patterned color, the little bits of text and even the bump between the pages in the image is great! Lots of texture and things going on.
Theyre all good but that one jumps out!
    great stuff Julie

  • Oh My Gosh I Love Them ALL! I love your Project Life. It makes me wish I did it too…but I know my limitations and it is a big thing for me that I do a Daily Art Journal…so I’ll stick with that for now! I LOVE your faces. I am really struggling with mine. I can do a basic face… but the coloring and shading and integrating??? I am still working on that, but you Totally Inspire Me! Your faces look almost…Tribal. Their is raw feeling in them. I love seeing your stacks of carvings. I love seeing the dog/wolf. I love your shaded arm…I do that too. I love seeing the ‘THE END’ and still having Lots more to look at! I love your Happy Halloween. I love the glimpse of your happy kitchen and I think most of all I love the TO DO list. I was just thinking how I could put my Thanksgiving TO DO list into my journal. Love you Julie! When I come to NY can we do lunch!!!!

I say it’s a tie between the pile of homemade stamps and the one of your sketch of the vase and label on the table next to the picture of the room with the table in it. All are wonderful and I wish that I lived in NYC still down the street from MOMA. You are definitely in the right place to grow yourself as an artist. SUper talented!

Thank you for your daily blog. Thank you for inspiring and encouraging me. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your blog to others making their name and art public. Please know that I and many others appreciate the work and the drive that goes into your work. This Thanksgiving I am thankful for Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and her Mom and her husband that gives her the biggest bedroom for a studio. Thank you. Lori W at Art Camp for Women

  • hi Julie,
Of course, all of your pictures are inspiring, but my favorite is the watercolor nude. You captured the light perfectly.
Also the dog wearing the mask is cute.
    Thank you

  • I love the ten minute sketch of the model (both the large one and the photo of it in your weekly Project Life page protector).
Your sketches of humans has grown SO much over the past few years.
