Art Adventures Abroad: Art is Everywhere

Street art is absolutely everywhere in Germany!  At least from what I could see, there's hardly a building or alley or streetpole that isn't covered with art.

And along with all of the grafitti style street art, there were lots of wonderful architectural flourishes to be enjoyed as well:

And my favorite bit of performance art:

Birds
It's a sad little iphone photo, but try to imagine: a dark sky and hundreds and hundreds of crows calling out and circling this gorgeous old church.  We sat and watched for quite a while.  It was a magnificent show.

Finally, I'll leave you with a peek at the finest art gallery I saw on my trip to Germany:

Nathalie'sStudio
Isn't Nat's gallery wall in her studio wonderful?  I love the idea of being surrounded by my own art and reinspired to create new pieces, don't you?  Be sure to read this post on Nat's blog about how we reorganized her studio during my visit.  I hope it will inspire you to reorganize the way your brain works!

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Not only is art all around us, but there's always time for art.  Here's a teeny tiny bit of lettering I did while in Germany (worked in small bits over a few days):

  • I love the street art too but the architecture is breathtaking especially that basement window with the ancient Greek figure over it. I work in an office park and often wish I lived in a city so I could look at interesting architecture and art! Thanks!

  • I swung by Nat’s blog as well- both your posts are immensely inspiring- your photos are fantastic- do you have an Instagr.am feed? Good thing you cracked the whip on studio clean up over at Nat’s- I’m sure it was easier to tackle with a bestie along for encouragement. I think my fave from this batch it the star on the light post pole- wow on the stylized design on that!

  • Fantastic! Love all that free expression! And the architecture is amazing. The cable ties and striped pole remind me of the graffiti knitting group, knittaplease (luv!). Nat’s studio gallery–so inspiring! And that shot of the church and the birds?? Breathtaking! Love the graininess and the lighting. Thanks!
