Last Monday was my twelve year anniversary in New York City.  I moved to New York on September 12, 1999 for a nine month internship at a theatre company and somehow never left.  I wasn't a scrapper when I first moved here, nevertheless, over the years I've scrapbooked my love for this city many many times.  Here are just a few of my favorite NYC layouts:

The one with the sun setting down the crosstown streets is just perfect. It really captures those summer evenings.

  • haha I love the “I don’t live in the world” page. I have to agree — it is a pretty amazing place to live. I didn’t want to move here, but after 7 years I don’t want to leave.

  • Your journals on NY are ‘bustling’ with colors. They’re so vivid and bright.
I would love to participate in your online free stencil 101 class. I did sent you a mail. I hope it’s not too late.

  • I have had the opportunity to visit NYC many times in the last 5 years because my daughter lived there. Now she is moving back to Tampa and I am actually torn about having my daughter back home and losing my NYC visits! I just love that city! It is an artists’ paradise. I recently visited MoMA and was amazed that they allow photography in there! I took over 100 photos of art work.
Your layouts of the city are wonderful, especially “16 reasons”. That’s my favorite.
p.s. If you haven’t seen the PBS documentary “New York City”, I highly recommend renting it. Starts in the 1600’s and ends with 9-11.

  • Wow Julie, this review is fantastic. I want to share with you that my first job out of college was for a general manager of Broadway & Off Broadway plays, and the office walls were decorated with the posters from the shows she managed. Seeing your work this way reminds me of that time and, I hope you’re carrying this ability over into your position as artistic director with The Milk Can Theatre Company!
