First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! And especially to my Mom, the silliest, smartest, most generous woman I know (and not a bad dancer either!) and to my Grandmother who I see far too rarely and love a whole lot. (This layout is an oldie, but a goodie. It's my great grandmother, my grandmother, my mother, and me!)
Welcome to day five of stamping inspiration and giveaways!
For seven days I will be giving away one of my brand new stamp sets from Canadian stamp manufacturer, Stamping Bella! All of the stamps are specifically aimed at art journaling. Of course you can use them for lots of different things, but my intention in creating them was for you to use them when you art journal! If you'd like to win today's featured stamp, leave a comment answering the question of the day (find it at the end of this post). You must answer the question of the day if you want to win! On Thursday, May 12, I will post all seven winners!

Today's featured stamp set is "Julie's Paint Splat."
I wanted this stamp to look as realistic as possible. So instead of drawing it, I made a whole series of real splats, picked the best one, and through the magic of Illustrator it is now a stamp! This is one of those staple stamps that I know I'll keep going back to again and again! Why?
Well, you may have noticed that I use paint splats all the time! And easy as they are to do, sometimes I (a) don't have my heat gun, or (b) don't want to wait for the droplets to dry (they take a surprisingly long time to dry), or (c) am somewhere that I can't fling paint. So this stamp is the perfect solution! I've put it straight into my travel art journal kit. I know it's going to be a lifesaver on the road!

Luv that splat stamp! And would love for you to do a paint dripping stamp, some kind of doodling stamp or a geometrical background stamp (like diamonds, mixed full and outlined squares/rectangles, sun rays made with “growing” circles).

Just love the paint splat stamp. In answer to the question – probably just my name. I always sign each entry with my name and having a stamp for that would be easier and I could make it into a design feature that way, too. 😉

This would be perfect for scrapping at crops (plus I really haven’t gotten my splattering to where I want it yet). I would say your scallops, but you just released a small one that I could just link up next to each other. Although I must say that it would be cool to have a 12″ border scallop stamp by you.

I’d love to see the images in your hand-carved stamps produced, like the chevrons and poppies. Also, a cityscape would be awesome. Love your flowers, too.

Paint splats are a great idea, so versatile ‘cos you can do them in all colours.

I like the idea of a paint splatter stamp ….. I know that splatters are not suppose to be perfect but sometimes they go where I do not want them …. then what do I do ????? Even though I tell my students —your projects are not suppose to look like they were made in China …. sometimes those splats are just not right !!! I am a flower person—I am attracted to flower stamps ….

Perhaps you could do something like that, along with borders like the “railroad track” looking thing (I’m really bad at describing!!) that you also use quite frequently!

Gosh, There are so many images that you use that I like, your hearts have always attracted me but I think that you handwritten (handpainted) words are my favorite. I like the way you use thick and thin lines.

Your handwriting is pretty unique and artsy! It would make a great stamp, either in something “readable” or something more abstract…that said, I must say you’ve hit almost all the bases with your first stamp line! I hope I turn up lucky!
