Happy Friday everyone!

Some things of note before lots and lots of photos:

1. Holidays Handmade starts on Monday (December 6)!  Woo Hoo!  At 12:30am EST the first post will go live.  I think the week is going to be so much fun!  If you'd like to grab a badge for your blog, here are two sizes:

2. I have a Live with Prima show on Monday (December 6) at 2pm EST.  Join me for fun, techniques, and a prize giveaway!  Here's the project:

Now, onto the main event.

I finally uploaded some pics from my French adventure.  I thought I'd share a few.

Delighted to finally meet Aniia (above).  I've been a fan for a very long time!  I even got to take a class from her!

Some of the teachers from Left to Right: Linda is so super funny.  I loved meeting her.  Wish I had gotten the chance to take one of her classes!  Nat was my roomie and we talked and talked and talked and then talked some more.  Really it was terrible.  No sleep, just chat, chat chat!  Erin was the sweetest person ever!  And she brought her Mom along (pictured below), who was also so delightful.  Vicki made me laugh a lot.  We were train buddies on the way to Buthiers and I had a ton of fun with her!

Everyone got their moustache on.

Erin'sMom-sm
Erin's Mom inked her black moustache to make it a little more hair appropriate.

JUlie-Mou
I had met Mou at CHA two summers ago.  It was great to get to spend some time getting to know her.  She had never seen snow in real life until our weekend in Buthiers!  How cool is that?

MoustachePortrait-sm
Even my students' portraits got moustaches!  🙂

GreekGirls-sm
Blurry pic, but I had to share because these Greek girls were too much fun!  Loud and rambunctious and creative!

Julie-Lillith-sm
I got to meet and take a class from Caroline!  She is very talented and very nice.  She was our translator in the teacher house, speaking excellent English and being kind enough to do it!

Julie-Safo-sm
Safo is a new favorite of mine!  Wonderful smile, great energy, and so nice!  And talented!  Check out her blog, her stuff is fab!

I got to take a class from the fabulous Stephanie!  She's amazing and will be a guest blogger for Holidays Handmade.  Be sure to watch for her post next week!

Beds-sm
Nat and I were not good at making our beds.

ClassroomBuilding-sm
This is the classroom building (above).  With the Coke machine that had no Diet Coke.  Sad, really.

The event was held at a campsite in the woods.  And the snow was lovely, but cold.  Everyone said it was oddly cold for the time of year.

Gendarmerie-sm
This is where we stayed. We called it "the teacher house."  I believe it's the police station during the summer season.

I was blown away by the students at this event!  They were *amazing* and creative and brave and just fantastic!  I hardly had to encourage them to take risks.  They came through the door with a sense of aventure and an awesome attitude!  Love that!

Finally here are some photos that I borrowed from this site.  I'm not sure who took them.

Many thanks to Celine (above on the right) for inviting me to France!  It was a grand adventure!  I have never laughed so hard or so long in my life!

The photo above is one of my very favorite memories from the trip.  There was a contest at one of the nightly crops.  Each table was challenged to create a layout using several provided items in under 30 minutes.  Well, we gabbed for the first 20 minutes.  When they announced that there were only 10 minutes left, we went into overdrive.  Nat, Vicki, and I all had our hands on the layout at the same time!  I was drawing, Nat was coloring, Vicki was paper piecing, plus Erin was supervising and making suggestions — it was the most awesome chaos and madness ever!

And maybe one tourist-y type photo from my non-scrappy time?

  • Looks like a fun trip with nature-friendly accommodations. That Coke machine looks antique. So where did hubby get to sleep?
