Okay, so it's definitely not my normal thing.  Wait until you see all the pink and glitter on this layout!  Here's the Pencil Lines sketch:

Sketch193
And here's my interpretation:

Inonebite-sm
I wandered away from the sketch for the most part.  However I kept several of the elements: the large mat behind the photo, the layered embellishment, and the paper strip across the bottom.  The more I work on sketches the more I discover that I *need* to wander away.  It always feels very tight and confined if I don't.

Check out the details:

I made a paper bow and then used Rock Candy Stickles on it to add a bit of shine!  I also used the Rock Candy Stickles on the cupcake, which I pieced and then stitched together:

I inked the edges of the large scallop with brown Distress Ink.  It really helps to create contrast and focus your eye towards the center.  And I like the mixture of the tough distressing with the soft glitter and girly pinks on the layout.

I added a bit of bling to the letters with some single rhinestones.  And I added a row of rhinestones…

…to the frame around the journaling.

  • Wow – it’s a bit mainstream for you isn’t it?!! *lol*
Meanwhile, I do see some ‘normal’ Julie sneaking in, like that stitched cupcake and the distress ink and stickles.
And geez! I love that paper ruffle and bow actually 🙂

  • I’m digging this sketch and need to use it myself. The bottom strip and bow are SWEET!

  • Cute sketch! 🙂 And I totally do the same thing, with sketches. I feel very confined with them – sometimes you gotta just break a little outta the lines, yeah? 🙂 Lovely page! Great little details here and there. 🙂
