Happy Monday! Just a quick run down of what's in my brain today:
1. I got on a kick the other night and started carving some stamps.
I like all three of them, but my favorite is the big one with all the leaves. I also made this one last night:
And actually that photo is at about actual size. I like it because you can print just a single set of triangles or repeat them in a long line (depending on how well you line them up).
2. How genius is Christina Clouse?
She made little sample cards of all of her border punches so she didn't have to go searching! I may have to do this!
3. I have decided to go ahead and try selling some art at the CREATE Artists Faire. Thanks for all your support and advice! I've been working on some fun stuff and I will share it soon!
4. I've got an upcoming class at The Ink Pad that I'm super excited about! I've been working on the class sample and it is fab-u-lous! You can see a little bit of a peek here (sorry for the sad iphone photos, but see #9 for the explanation on why):
Save the date for an all-day journal workshop on August 14. It's not open for registration yet, but I'll let you know when it is!
5. Mark Lipinski…
…paid me a surprise visit on Saturday! He's one of the hosts of "Quilt Out Loud," an
internet TV show about quilting. The focus is more on the quilting lifestyle than on completing projects.
I was a guest on their "Surprise Door Knock" segment. Mark wandered around my apartment with a camera crew and chatted with me about my work, organization tips, and lots more! I'm excited to see the segment go up online and I'll be sure to post when it does. (And can you believe that I didn't manage to get a single photo during the filming? I was too excited to remember to grab the camera or even my iphone!)
6. Liz Curtin is a student of mine and a lovely artist.
See the necklace she's wearing? She made it and the charms are…paperclips! Isn't that cool? Paperclips!
She bent and curled the bottom part of the paperclip so that the charms would hang from the chain. I think it's a totally genius idea! I am on the lookout for some pretty, decorative paperclips to use as charms!
7. I just got a box full of Prima goodies from the summer CHA release and wow! There's some stuff that had me (literally) dancing around my living room in celebration. Prima has blown my mind with some awesome new products that I can't wait to share…but I can't just yet! Let's just say that something I have wished Prima would make for a long long time finally arrived in my box! 😉
8. The very talented (and often cover girl) Sue Pelletier filmed her Cloth Paper Scissors DVD right after mine. Check out her beautiful work:
And be sure to visit her blog too! She's going to be teaching at CREATE if you want to take a class from her in Chicago this summer! I love these canvases and can't wait for my copy of Cloth Paper Scissors to arrive in the mail!
9. I lost my battery charger for my camera somewhere. Very sad. I therefore had to order a new charger…which may have led to me ordering a new lens cap (lost that about two years ago) and an extra battery. Why is it that one purchase always leads to another? In any case, you won't be seeing any pretty photos from me until that darn camera battery charger arrives! I feel very naked without my camera!
10. Um…I don't actually have a #10, but once I got to nine I had to have a ten of some kind. So, how about some self-portraits of me wearing my Prima canvas tote that I painted? In case you don't know, I take a photo of myself in the mirror outside the elevator almost every single day while I'm waiting for it to arrive.
(That top photo is me and my cousin. She just moved back to NYC and I'm thrilled that she's here!)
Whew. Monster post today. Thanks for stopping by!

PS: The winner (thanks, random.org) of the Harmonie goodies from this
post is…
Just beautiful! Harmonie
looks like it has some cool stuff. Love the citrusy colors on the first
one–lots of button yumminess! Can I ask you what kind of pen you used
for your journaling? It looks so dark and crisp over the paint/mist.
Love the vellum flower, and the stitching on your photo tags and
Thickers. Yup, that'll keep 'em in their place!
Send me your address Michelle and I'll send you your goodies!
I love those stamps! You are so crafty.
Thanks for the shout out re: punch index.
I am sooo excited to get YOUR DVD, you crafty diva.
Hope your weekend was fantastic.
