Harmonie is a Canadian scrapbooking company that kindly sent me a package full of their beautiful products to play with.  Here's what I got:

Double-sided papers…

Harmonie6
Harmonie5
…one of which had a very cool secret!  That brackety shaped one on the right was perforated so  you could pop the shape out if you wanted to, but didn't have to!

Harmonie4
Everything I got had a kind of tropical beach theme.  Vinyl Stickers:

Harmonie3
It's hard to see in the photo, but the white package on the right is actually letters.  They're designed so that you can  use both the positive and the negative of the letter!

Acrylic stamps, laser cut chipboard, and buttons:

Harmonie2
And finally, an acrylic die cut and ribbon wrapped on a beautiful laser cut piece of chipboard:

Harmonie1
I thought that the ribbon wrapped around that laser cut chipboard was just genius!  Love that idea.

I haven't been on a beachy trip in a number of years, so the first layout I made is just an every day story:

Imissmyoldhair-sm
Here are the details:

ImissmyoldhairDetail1-sm
ImissmyoldhairDetail2-sm
ImissmyoldhairDetail3-sm
For my second layout I had to dig into the photo archives.  In July of 2007 we went to John's freshman roommate's wedding in Turks&Caicos.  Take a peek:

TropicalWedding-sm
And the details:

TropicalWeddingDetail1-sm
I mixed two sets of Thickers since I didn't have the right letters in either the dots or the plain ones to spell out both words.  I stitched the words down to make sure the letters stay put.  Sadly, my page protectors are full of letters collected at the bottom that have fallen off of my layouts.  Sigh.  That blue doily was dyed with Adirondack Color Wash from Ranger.

TropicalWeddingDetail2-sm
I did some messy stitching on the little photo tags.  I like the sense of movement and energy and texture that the stitching adds.

TropicalWeddingDetail3-sm
This is maybe my favorite part of the layout.  I hand cut the leaves from some patterned paper and covered them with Rock Candy Stickles.  The flowers were made by placing the gold vinyl stickers on vellum and then cutting them out.

Harmonie-sticker
Once I had a pile of flowers I layered them up, added a button and another little swirl, and voila!  A fabulous new embellishment!

I thought I'd pay it forward with a little giveaway of some of the Harmonie products.  Winner will get…

Harmonie-giveaway
HarmonieAcrylic-detail
…the large acrylic embellishment and the laser cut chipboard trees (which I think would make an awesome mask).  If you'd like to win just leave me a comment letting me know why you stopped by my blog today!  (And for those of you who are reading this through your e-mail, you have to come and comment on this post to be eligible to win.)  I'll pick a random winner on Sunday (June 20) at 11:59pm!

Thanks for stopping by!

    These two LO’s are cool!
I come over to your blog almost every day to see what you came up with!
Sometimes your creations are too “wild” for me (I am a graphic designer)
    but most of your work impresses me BECAUSE you let it run wild! (;
    lovely greetings

  • I am amazed at the monstera leaves on the pattern paper. I thought those were only tropical, like here in Hawaii. Love the layout. Those embellies would work great on my layouts! Aloha.

    – I read your blog thru email
    every single day!
    Why am I here today?
    well … its to win!
I make sure to read the blog daily because your work inspires me, its gets my mind going, so that when I finally sit down to do my projects I am all reved up! (Yes, I scraplift…horribly! LOL )
In fact your blog MAKES me sit down and create. Otherwise I would probably do stupid stuff all day long – like cleaning, cooking, laundry and even (gagging)
    I would work 🙁 …
I would like to win too because doing tropical inspired layouts is one of my favorite things to scrap. We lived in Florida for a few years so I have loads of pictures to scrap –
but even though we now live back in Ohio – my yard is decorated with pink flamingos and tropical thingys! (Yes, tacky I know but “I” love it)

  • Julie, you’re fantastic. I have your blog on my daily feed and I look forward to your new posts every day. I appreciate how you update so often and I’m always stunned at how you manage put together so many new projects in such little time! I wonder if you set a timer, how long it takes you to put together a layout! lol
Anyway… I loved the flower you made with the stickers. That’s so neat. I want to go and find some of the same sticker outlines that I can use to make a flower like it! Great idea!

a bag, apron, home decor item. I am always inspired by what you do. I have just recently started creating my own craft room so I can do a little something creative everyday. Thanks for being a constant source of inspiration!

  • Just want to comment on what inspiring art you create, whether it is a scrapbook page,
a bag, apron, home decor item. I am always inspired by what you do. I have just recently started creating my own craft room so I can do a little something creative everyday. Thanks for being a constant source of inspiration!

  • Lovely products. I really like that striped paper with the palm trees… it really jumped out at me.
I’m reading your blog today because I needed my daily fix :o) I get about 15 minutes for a break at work and you are usually one of my quick stops. You’ve opened my eyes to so many possibilities since I found you last year. You always give me a reason to come back.

I am on the e-mail list so I am treated to your creativity every single day. I love everything you and wish you would come to the West Coast someday — I would love to take an in-person class with you someday.

  • Hi Julie,
Got onto your blog during one of my blog hopping sessions and now you are on the top of my favourite list! Addicted to your energy and I love how you explain your techniques. It’s so wonderful that I can keep up with what you are doing and all the latest stuff, even though I am a world away in Australia! Hope to get to your side of the world one day.

  • Gorgeous. I love the stitching on the photo tags. I would have been afraid of “ruining” the pics but not anymore! I also love the button stacks. I don’t usually use buttons but I think that might change. As always, thanks for the inspiration.

  • Just beautiful! Harmonie looks like it has some cool stuff. Love the citrusy colors on the first one–lots of button yumminess! Can I ask you what kind of pen you used for your journaling? It looks so dark and crisp over the paint/mist. Love the vellum flower, and the stitching on your photo tags and Thickers. Yup, that’ll keep ’em in their place!
