The Cloth Paper Scissors CREATE retreat is still a ways away, not until August. But I wanted to remind you that I'll be there, in Chicago, teaching up a storm! And I actually just signed up to take two classes as well! I'm super excited about the whole thing! If you want to come to Chicago and take my classes, here they are:
Paint Stitch Tape
We’re going to get messy! Come and put
together a fabulous paper and fabric journal while learning lots of my
favorite techniques. We’ll be mixing fabric and paper without sitting
down at the sewing machine, doodling with our paintbrushes, creating
fabric and paper flowers, decorating with simple embroidery, cutting our
own stencils, sewing our book binding, and so much more! Come explore
how fun and easy it is to build up layers of paint and tape and
embroidery floss!

The cover is absolutely gorgeous, but mucking around and making the insides of this book is my absolute favorite part! We'll be hand cutting stencils, painting patterns, and generally making an enormous mess!
We’ll create a fun and fast collage
background using old book pages and then it’s on to the main event:
painting the face! Even if you think you can’t draw, come and learn this
easy technique to layer watercolor and gesso to create an artsy and
stylized face.
