I finally finished my Week in the Life Album!

AllPages-sm
It's a hybrid album with lots of photo collages mixed in with paper and typewriter details.  I used the "Quilting Bee" kit from Studio Calico to put the album together.  Using a kit made it easy to put together all of the embellishments and accents.  I knew that everything was already coordinated for me!  I also included my blog posts, some e-mails and handwritten notes, and other everyday stuff.  All of that is tucked into page protectors that sit between all these pretty photo pages.

Here are some of the details:

Todaycards-sm
Each of the photos in the baseball card sleeves got a number and then I typed up these little cards to explain each photo.  You can see that I added misting, masking, and pretty paper bits.

Cursivecards-sm
I used my cursive typewriter to create little cards, like the ones you see above, that have random thoughts or details from the day.  It's mostly punch art mixing up lots of different patterns!

Decorativebits-sm
Above on the left you can see a purely decorative little card.  I have a few of these scattered throughout the album.  Mostly just bits and pieces of patterned paper with lots of layered punch outs!  And on the right you can see the chipboard butterflies stitched inside the page protector.  Each of the baseball card protectors has one or two chipboard butterflies sewn into a pocket.  I like being able to see through these pockets to the next page.

So how about you?  Have you finished your Week in the Life Album?

Thanks for stopping by!

  • This was my first time doing the Week in the Life Album, and I only just beat you …… I only posted mine on my blog last weekend! It’s a lot of work but totally rewarding I think. If you’re interested you can see a couple of my pages here: http://onescrappydoctor.blogspot.com/2010/06/week-in-40-pages.html
It’s quite a different style album to your own, but that’s one of the things I loved about the project.. you could totally make it your own way.
Anyway, thanks for sharing. I think your album is really lovely. Loving all the chipboard butterflies.
    xx

  • WOW! I especially like how you used the baseball-sized cards for the little details and stories. The see-thru parts are something special too. I keep thinking that this would be a fun project to do and then look at 20 years from now for a comparison. TFS
How does John like sharing his life with the public?
