I came home from a long night of auditions on Friday. Probably got home around 12:45am. I chatted with my husband and my mother (visiting for the weekend) and when they went to bed around 2am, I sat down in my studio. I couldn't go to sleep, even though I was tired. I just *needed* to create.
There are times that I feel like a junkie. I can't stop thinking about it, can't go more than a day without it. Sometimes I just have to create.
I didn't want to work on an assignment or a project that required step-by-step directions. I just wanted to make something that expressed how I was feeling and was fun to do! So I grabbed two file folders and a pile of leftover book page edges and got to work. Here's what I made:
Lovely file folders to fill with scraps of paper, important documents, or maybe even pin on the wall. I secured the edges with a combination of glue and stitching, so they're highly functional. I may have to make a whole filing cabinet full of them!

I enjoy the freedom to speak with my paper and paint that I don’t enjoy with my mouth. Isn’t it funny, usually the more tired I am the easier the creativity flows, maybe thats because I’m too tired to “correct” it! That’s a thought I must ponder…. hmmm, interesting.

Sometimes I feel like I’m addicted to art… is that crazy?! Too much of a good thing perhaps?
