Another great kit from Kenner Road this month!  Here's what I made:

EyesWideShut-sm
This is one of the most "simple" layouts I've ever made.  But I love it.  (Totally obsessed with those Sassafras border stickers too – the blue squares attached to the orange and red strip – They make it so easy to scrap!)

EyesWideShutDetail1-sm
I outlined the chipboard letters.  They're from My Mind's Eye and I like the fact that they're matte.

Adorable birdhouse paper from Jillibean soup.  I cut out a few of the birdhouses and added some rhinestones to the round doorways.

I made this layout at a crop.  But I felt like it was missing something.  So I added the chopsticks when I got home.

Isn't that birdcage stamp adorable?  I had done a test stamping (which came out a little bit distressed as you can see) and decided to use it here.  The "yum" was hand cut with scissors.

I do a lot of hand cutting, but those tiny bumblebees were hard to handle!  You can see the dry brushing of the background here really clearly.  And the center piece is an extra stamped and colored (with a white Uniball Signo pen) image that I stuck a rhinestone to.

I don't usually do cutesy.  But I loved these little banner triangles.  I adhered them over the yellow paper with the bee.  It still felt a bit empty to me, so I added the little "bee trail" behind the banner.  Too cute!

I love, love, love, love, love, love, LOVE the background paper on this layout.  It's from GCD Studios/Melody Ross and it's flocked.  So feminine and lovely.  LOVE it!

Another hand cut title.  They can be tricky to adhere, so I tend to just stick them down in a few locations and call it good.  After all, my pages all end up in page protectors, so what can possibly happen to it?  (PS: Can you see that gorgeous flocking in the background?  Yum!)

LovelyDetail2-sm
I made my own little journaling card here.  I cut a mask to create the brackety shape with a pink misted edge.  Some rhinestones and journaling lines finish it off!

Hands down, this is my favorite detail from any of my layouts.  I took a vintage milk bottle top (from the kit) and stuck several of the pins into the edge.  The effect is so cool and up against the flower stems, it really creates a sort of garden look!

OneStepAtATime-sm
This is one of those last minute layouts.  I thought I was done, but the kit kept calling me back.  I had to use that luscious Sassafras paper!  I traced a stencil from the Crafter's Workshop and cut out the scallop shape.  You can see it a bit better here:

The edges of the scalloped paper are inked and I layered several border stickers around the photo as a frame.

You can see here that that big flower is painted right over all the layers.  I'm loving adding large decorative elements to my pages this way!

SpringFling-sm
I am not kidding when I tell  you that this layout took me about 5 hours to make.  And it is a total mess in my opinion.  I just kept working it and working it and it refused to come together.  But I was stubborn (and it shows) and wouldn't let it go.  There's just too much going on.

SpringFlingDetail1-sm
Distress Stickles all over the place.  And some nice hand stitching.

SpringFlingDetail2-sm
I liked the way this flower turned out.  I made it out of a beautiful piece of lace from the kit.  But it probably should have gone on a different layout….

SpringFlingDetail3-sm
I painted these corrugated cardboard letters.  I glittered them.  I painted them again.  I covered them with gesso.  I painted them again.  Finally, I gave up.  Sigh.  It is what it is.

And finally, I made two cards with the scrips and scraps left on my table.  I'll have a tutorial up on the Kenner Road blog on how to make them on March 29.  Here's a peek:

  • Such lovely “messes” (in the good sense of the word) 🙂 Funny, but I hadn’t tasted Korean cuisine until last spring where me and my hubby decided to try it out when in London. Funny because I’m adopted from there – should have made a better effort to try out the food earlier *cough*. It was yummy 🙂 Need to scrap about it, don’t think I have, hmm…:)
