Want to take a class from me? I'm teaching several classes here in NYC!
Paint and Patterned Paper Collage, January 16, 2010, 2:30-5pm at The Ink Pad (NYC)
You’ll
be amazed by how easy it is to combine paint and paper into a beautiful
collaged painting. Create a self-portrait or an homage to an imaginary
friend. No experience necessary! We’ll focus not only on the collage
technique, but also on painting a pleasing face.
Introduction to Art Journaling, January 16, 2010, 10am-1:30pm at The Ink Pad (NYC)
Art
Journaling is a fun and relaxing way to mix creative expression with
memory keeping. Many art journaling techniques can be used in card
making, scrapbooking, mixed media artwork, and even fiber art. In this
introduction to the process of art journaling we’ll cover all the
basics from supplies to techniques. You’ll leave with at least one
completed page and inspiration and know how to help you keep creating
for months to come!
Thread Jewelry: February 7, 2010, 12-4pm at The City Quilter (NYC)
Lightweight,
packable, comfortable, and oh-so-stylish! This necklace and earring set
is made from felt, thread, and your imagination. Come and learn how to
whip up a fancy set of custom jewelry in no time at all. You must know
how to use a sewing machine. This is the necklace and earring set that I wrote about in Quilting Arts Gifts Magazine.
Journal Quilt Class at The City Quilter (NYC)
Either 12-2pm or 6-8pm on Fridays January 22, February 19, March 12, and April 2, 2010.
A
journal quilt is a small (8.5×11”) quilt that you make to document an
event in your life, an emotion that you are feeling, a time of year,
something you would like to remember, or maybe just a new technique.
The goal is to experiment, explore, and have fun in a no-pressure
environment. Come and learn how to transform your day-to-day
experiences into art quilts. Each class will offer both a new technique
and tips on design as well as a journaling exercise. This class is excellent for those who are seeking to learn how to design small art pieces. All levels welcome.
Let me know if you have any questions about any of the classes!
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Before I go I wanted to answer some questions that have come up in the comments:
By the way, we miss
you on Scrapbook Memories TV. They're showing old episodes now. When
will you return? When will the new series air? Will you appear again?
Let us know!

I believe that the schedule is different in every area. You can check it out here. And yes! I will be appearing on Scrapbook Memories again! We're taping in February and I am so excited about hosting some segments! I'll be doing some product picks (looking forward to going to CHA to see what looks awesome) and teaching some super fun Sakura projects!
I love "21 reasons" – how did you do the background!

This is one of my all time favorite layouts too! I had recently returned from Ranger U. and was feeling very inky! I actually have an old video tutorial here on how to make this background. Essentially, you use a piece of lace paper as a stencil and use an ink blending tool apply various colors of Distress Ink. Super easy!
Sadly, the alpha stamps you
used are sold out at Studio Calico. Do you know if they will restock? I
just love those! Also, what type of paint did you use in your title?
Love the effect. Is it water color?

Good news, Kathy! I e-mailed Studio Calico and they told me that they have re-ordered the stamps. They should arrive in a few weeks!
The paint for the title is a combination. The word resolutions is acrylic paint. (I like Studio by Claudine Hellmuth for Ranger.) The stamped letters are colored with watercolor. (I use Koi watercolors by Sakura.)
Thanks for stopping by!
No matter how I look at it I just can’t make the classes in NYC:(
They all sound great. Have fun sharing the journey of creating wonderful items. One of the things that I like about you is the way you trust that everyone CAN do the same techniques with practice.
