I love challenges.  And when I saw this one on the Studio Calico blog, I knew I wanted to participate.  Basically, it's "…a challenge revolving around fives.  This could be ANYTHING, as long as
there is a tie in and you can tell me or show me how you interpreted
the number five."  At the same time, I spied this challenge on the Sassafras blog.  It's super easy, just to use the Amplify collection.

So I mixed the two challenges together:

Here's a close up of that green frame:

Here are a few notes about how the layout came together:

  • I traced some Jenni Bowlin packaging to get the bracket shape and then I cut the bracket in half and glued one half to each side.
  • All five of these photos fit onto a 4×6” canvas.  The sum really is greater than the parts.  It’s such an economical (not to mention a way to get lots of photos on a page) way to print your photos!
  • I built up the flower at the bottom of the green frame with lots of foam adhesive (you can really see it in the detail photo).
  • The numbers (fun new-to-me Studio Calico stamps) were stamped on white cardstock and then cut out.

ETA: Just found out that this layout of mine (also made with the Amplify collection):

Ben&Matt-sm
was one of two winners over  at the Sassafras blog!  Woo Hoo!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Challenges are fun and guide me with which sketch/materials to use (helps me focus more quickly). Glad I got to see the Ben and Matt LO again as I really like it. Congrats!

Quick question… I know you have mentioned it before but what is the typical size of photo you work with?

  • Andrea: Im kind of all over the place.  I dont use anything larger than a 4×6 and I tend to use a lot of 2×3 photos, but I also print them at weird random sizes too.  Sorry I cant be more helpful.  After the new year, Ill put together a little post about how I print photos.
