Tim Holtz is doing his 12 Tags of Christmas again. Yay! The first one went live yesterday. For the past two years (link to 2008, link to 2007) I've eagerly read the instructions and salivated over the giveaways. But, I've never played along. Perhaps it's because I'm not a huge Christmas fan. Don't get me wrong. I like Christmas. But I don't decorate or spend two months shopping or anything like that. But this year, I've decided to play along! Here is his tag:

So, here's what I learned:
Loved making my own wired ribbon! I never thought of doing it, but it was super easy and I plan to do it again.
I put some Distress Stickles on top of my Dymo sentiment. Then I used a heat gun to dry the Stickles and the words melted away! Eeep! So, I used a white pen to write it on top of the melted Dymo tape. The fun news is that I was able to use the heat to curl the edges of the tape. A silver lining.
I sort of felt like the snow was total cheeseball. But looking at this tag, I'm majorly digging it! I tend not to take out the Stickles, just because they take so long to dry. But these dried beautifully with a heat gun, so I'm definitely planning on breaking them out more often!
I'm planning on playing along for the next 11 days. We'll see if I actually manage to keep up!

It turned out fabulous! I’m not a big fan of stickles and I kinda thought the snow wasn’t something I’d do either but geesh, it looks really great! Nice work!

I checked this out yesterday on his blog and couldn’t believe how many steps he explained…but beautiful tag in the end! I like the bright star that you made. I never thought of using heat to dry Stickles.
